It is often very instructive to see how real pros set up and lead a shooting session. In particular, there’s a lot to learn on how to set up lights…
Some examples on the very goog blog Squeeze The Lime (who shows each time the shooting video aside from the pictures slideshow). The one below is very interesting because the photograph only uses speedlights and tripod-mounted diffusers: any amateur could reproduce it with a minimal budget!
There is of course also Strobist, the reference blog in photographic ligthing, which shows the shooting of the Louis Vuitton campaign by Annie Leibovitz with Sean Connery. A bit more difficult to reproduce as an amateur (Sean, the boat, the island and the 15 assistants behind Annie may be missing…), but still interesting!
